The story of Oscar the Handsome Pug

The Handsome Pugs

We re-homed Oscar on 3rd February 2018. He was 9 months old and living in Greater London. His previous family had another dog and a cat, but unfortunately the cat and Oscar didn’t get on, so they had a decision to make… Oscar, or the cat. Luckily for us, they decided to re-home Oscar and […]

We re-homed our dog – The story

Pug Ownership

We bought Ocsar back in February 2018, aged 10 months. We didn’t want a puppy, but wanted a relatively young dog, so decided to rehome one. Having looked on the RSPCA website, as well as the. PDWRA, there was nothing suitable at the time of looking, so we turned to the wider internet. We had

We castrated our puppy at 7 months old 🍆 Only We castrated our puppy at 7 months old 🍆

Only took me 3 months to share this… But I can confirm that Archie pup is healed and honestly, castrating him early was the best thing we did 🙌🏼

We castrated Archie at 7 months for two reasons:

1. He would obsessively hump Henry… Now Henry is quite a submissive dog, but it got to the point where they couldn’t be in the same room together and they couldn’t even be walked together because Archie was constantly on him. It was OBSESSIVE.

2. When he came to live with us at six months old, he was peeing everywhere. He was toilet trained, but it felt to me like a dominant pee. On the sofa, the bed, the toy box, just constantly marking his scent.

A local dog trainer actually advised us that getting him castrated wouldn’t help with the humping issue… However, I did my own research and I really did believe it would help. I’m very grateful that I trusted my gut because it solved the problem 🙏🏼 Don’t get me wrong, he still does the odd hump but compared to before it is night and day!

Has anyone else castrated early and what was your experience?

He’s now one year old, still a cheeky pup, but loving life with his big Brothers, Oscar and Henry 🤍

The Cotswold pub that needs adding to your list 😏

I honestly can’t recommend @swan_inn_ascott enough. From the beautiful interiors, to the staff and the way they treated my dog, to the breakfast and dinner. Location is also incredible for a day exploring the Cotswolds 👏🏼

PR trip but as always, thoughts are very much my own. I rate this place highly!
